Obituary of Mildred Braggs

Mildred C. Braggs WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Mildred C. Braggs, 89, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kevin Mason, Jeff Floyd, Frankie Whitten, Luke Morris, Douglas Morris and Robert Armstrong. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 1817 Gadsden St. Columbia, SC 29201. Mrs. Braggs passed away on July 2, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late William Preston Carter and Artie Cornelia Bolton Carter. She was a longtime area resident. Surviving are her daughter Linda Morris Whitten of West Columbia, sons, Doug Morris (Cindy) of Gaston, Billy Thames (Joyce) of Massachusetts and Kenny Thames (Carolyn) of Kingstree; sisters, Dot Brazell and Bet Leslie both of Florence; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
