A graveside service celebrating the life and legacy of D.E. ?Ed? Boland, 86, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Dennis Banks officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday at Greenlawn Funeral Home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mr. Boland departed this earthly life on Thursday, July 7, 2011. He was born in Batesburg, SC to Broadus Boland and Estelle Kirkland Boland. Mr. Boland was a veteran of the United States Army. Ed was the owner and operator of Boland?s Carriage Cleaners. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia. Ed was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Mildred M. ?Maxine? Boland. Surviving are his loving daughters and son-in-law, Lisa B. Boylen and her husband Max Boylen and Susan E. Boland; his aunt, Louise Smith; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
