Obituary of Earnest Tager

Earnest Tager, Jr. COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Earnest Tager, Jr., 84, of Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Celestial Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Dieckman. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Chapel at Celestial Memorial Gardens. Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia will be assisting the family. Mr. Tager, widower of Tanzie Tager, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011. Born in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late Earnest Tager and Catherine Griffin Tager. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Surviving are daughters Lillian Hollis of Elgin, Elizabeth Cheek of Wagener, and Marie Renich of Sterling, VA; sons Jack Quinn of Columbia and Rusty Windham of Swansea; brothers Jimmy Tager of Dothan, AL, Horace Tager of Blythewood and Tommy Tager of Gaston; and eleven grandchildren.
