Obituary of Karen Rice

Karen LaMae Rice LEXINGTON: Services for Karen LaMae Rice, 68, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at The Harvest church, officiated by Pastor Aaron Bell. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Rice, wife of James Henry Rice, went to be with her Lord, Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Born in Elk River, MN, she was a daughter of the late Orville Glen Briggs and Pearl Beck Briggs. She was a member of The Harvest Church. She was a teacher's assistant in the Renton, WA school district helping special needs students for 27 years. Mrs. Rice loved travel and adventure and was a loving, caring grandmother to her four grandchildren. Survivors are: her husband, James Rice; son, Timothy Harold Rice (Coni) all of Lexington; sisters, Mavis VonTorne and Janice Rockas of Seattle, WA; also four grandchildren; Zoe, Clare, Lucy and Henry Rice.
