Obituary of TRACY GLASGOW

Tracy Leigh Glasgow, 39, of Columbia, died on Tuesday, July 26 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. Tracy was the daughter of Carolyn and Niles Glasgow of Columbia. Born in Opelika, Alabama, Tracy lived in Auburn, Alabama; Denver, Colorado; Phoenix, Arizona; and Fairfax, Virginia; before moving to Columbia in 1984. She was of the Baptist faith. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1990 and studied Fashion Merchandising at Midlands Technical College. For the last 10 years, she was employed by Goodwill Industries as a Senior Associate. Her co-workers respected her; her customers adored her. In 2007, she received an Award of Excellence in recognition of exceptional commitment and devotion to Goodwill Industries and 5 years of perfect attendance and punctuality presented to her at a dinner in her honor. Tracy was a uniquely special young woman. Family and friends remember her gentle nature, her sweet spirit, and her unceasing loyalty. Funeral services will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home 845 Leesburg Road on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11 o?clock with visitation an hour before the services. Reverend Jay Glasgow will be officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road. In addition to her parents, Tracy is survived by her brother, Jay Glasgow and wife Linda of Columbia; her nieces Macie, Calie, and Jaden; her nephews Noah and Jacob; her aunt and uncle Nina Glasgow and David Brown of New York; and her faithful feline friend Gumbo. She was predeceased by her grandparents Clara and Luther Pendley of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and Ethel and Willard Glasgow of Phil Campbell, Alabama. She was also predeceased by her uncle Jimmy Glasgow also of Phil Campbell. For their care and compassion, the family wishes to thank the staffs at Palmetto Health Richland Oncology Floor, the Critical Care Floor, the Emergency Room, the Palliative Care Team, the Palmetto Heart Moultrie Suite, the Palmetto Health Hospice and the South Carolina Oncology Associates.
