Obituary of Kathe Alexander

Funeral services for Kathe Hahl Alexander, 76, will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Alexander passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at her home. She was born in Lampertheim, Germany on 19 February 1935. She had been in the United States since 1956 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1959. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed crafts and other projects at her home. Her kids and grandkids were an inspiration of her life. Mrs. Alexander was a daughter of the late Friederick and Katherina Hahl. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Stanley) Blount of Columbia; sons, Charles (Lesley) Alexander of Rochester, MA; Thomas Alexander of Columbia, and Steven Alexander of Eastover. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Tommy Blount and Morgan & Austin Alexander. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Alexander; a granddaughter, Heidi Alexander; and her two brothers, Ludwig and Friedel Hahl.
