Obituary of Dyonna Sturgeon

Dyonna Lee Sturgeon COLUMBIA: Funeral service for Dyonna Lee Sturgeon, 53, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, officiated by Rev. Terry Roberts and Rev. Warren Parker. Interment will follow at the Chapin Baptist Church Cemetery, 950 Old Lexington Hwy., Chapin, SC 29036. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gideon's International, 2900 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214, or to the Memorial of Dyonna Lee Sturgeon, Crossover Community International, P.O. Box 211755, Columbia, SC 29221. Miss Sturgeon went to be with her Lord Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of Mary Jane Branham Sturgeon and the late Frank Norwood Sturgeon. She was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God Church. Dyonna volunteered for the Red Cross; and was associated with Saints Mary and Martha Orthodox Monastery in Wagener, SC. Surviving are her mother, Mary J. Sturgeon of Columbia; sister, Martha Bates (Joe) of Chapin; brother, Rusty Dawkins (Linda) of Batesburg-Leesville; and several nieces and nephews.
