Obituary of Dewey Lawson

Dewey L. Lawson WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Dewey L. Lawson, 66, of West Columbia, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Officiating will be Chaplain Chuck Byrd. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Lawson passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011. Born in Swansea, he was the son of the late James Willie Lawson and Ruby Gertrude Ballziger Lawson. He was a lifetime area resident and worked as a carpenter. Surviving are his sisters, Alma R. Leach of Cayce and Retha M. Bates of West Columbia, along with several nieces and nephews.
