Obituary of Ailsey Martin Busbee

Ailsey "Noonie" Martin Busbee Cayce—Ailsey Martin Busbee, 80, affectionately known as "Noonie", widow of Jack William Busbee, died Saturday at Palmetto Baptist Hospital. Born in Lexington County, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Martin and Emma Wolfe Martin. Mrs. Busbee was a graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School in 1948, a member of Broadacres Baptist Church and after many years retired as the bookkeeper for Columbia Wilbert Vault Company. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker, devoted wife, loving mother and a special "Nanny Noonie" to her three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She had a kind and gentle spirit and was loved by all that knew her. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Broadacres Baptist Church in Cayce with the Reverend William "Bill" Geddings officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery in Sandy Run. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon B. Parrish (Allen); sons, Martin T. Busbee (Kimberly) and Jeffrey E. Busbee; grandchildren, Bradley S. McCullar (Dodie), Brenton C. McCullar and Lacey B. Jeffcoat (Curtis); great-grandchildren, Easley Benjamin Jeffcoat, Haley Grace McCullar, Sara Elizabeth Reale and her loving sister, Emma Lee Geiger. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Bartley, Jimmy Yonce, Todd Cooper, Wally Price, Joey Hodge, Larry Martin and Neil Cato. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis and David Geiger, Cecil and Timmy Powers, Grover James Martin, Floyd Tarr, Mark Gilliam, Timmy Busbee, Chris Thompson and Albert Sharpe. She was predeceased by brothers, John "Bub" and G.C. Martin; sisters, Mary Holmes Powers, Mildred Derrick and Blanche Bartley. Memorials may be made in Ailsey's honor to Broadacres Baptist Church, 2350 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC 29033 and Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2349 Old State Road, Swansea, SC 29160.
