Obituary of Donald McCombs

Donald Eddie McCombs ROCK HILL: Graveside services for Donald Eddie McCombs, 64, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Woodridge Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Ed Lynch. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mr. McCombs died Thursday, September 15, 2011. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Fulton Brice McCombs and Lola Lackey McCombs. He was employed as a welder. Survived by long time companion, Shirley Helms; sisters, Betty Jean Turner (Ken) and Geralene M. Wilson; also numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. McCombs was predeceased by twin brother, Ronald F. McCombs, sister, Joan Pate, brother, Giles "Bubba" McCombs and brother-in-law, James Wilson, Jr. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
