Obituary of Richard Andrew McKellips

A funeral service celebrating the life of MSgt Richard ?Mac? Andrew McKellips, 46, of Hopkins will be held at 3:00p.m.Sunday, October 2, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors to follow. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m.Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. ?Mac? as he was affectionately called by family and friends, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. He was born on May 25, 1965 in Stockton, CA to Richard Wayne McKellips and Eleanor Garcia McKellips. Richard joined the United States Air Force in December 1984 and separated for USAF in December 1994. He was currently serving in the South Carolina National Guard since 1999. Richard served in Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Southern and Northern Watch. ?Mac? loved football, spending all his free time with his loving wife and working on projects around the house. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Vera Garcia, William McKellips, & Vince and Helen Chaisen. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Renee Ruth McKellips of the home; a son, Christopher Andrew McKellips of North Carolina; his father, Richard Wayne McKellips of California; his mother, Eleanor McKellips Peters of Arkansas; a brother, David McKellips and his wife Tracie of Arkansas; a sister, Michelle Triolo and her husband John of California; his mother-in-law, Kay Winter; sister-in-laws, Judy Doherty and her husband Richard, Carol Wedepohl and her husband Wayne, Sheri Bohnhoff and her husband Mark; brother-in-laws, Norman Winter and his wife Dona and Daryl Winter all of Wisconsin; 10 nephews, 5 nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
