Obituary of Austin Ziegler

Austin Herbert "Zig" Ziegler, Sr. WEST COLUMBIA: Services for Austin Herbert "Zig" Ziegler, Sr., 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Interment will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11a.m. one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Mission Fund at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907. On Wednesday, September 28, 2011, Mr. Ziegler joined his late wife of 46 years, Inez O'Bryan Ziegler, in the presence of their Lord. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Ziegler. Zig was a retired U.S. Air Force Master Sergeant. His eight children, Sharon Smith of Augusta, GA, Austin "Herb" Ziegler, Jr. (Gwen) of Griffin, GA, Gunda Taylor (Earnie) of Youngsville, NC, Jerry Ziegler (Celeste) of Ridgeway, SC, Steven Ziegler (Bonnie) of Lexington, SC, Gary Ziegler of Huntington Beach, CA, Elizabeth Hardy (Barry) of Lacy Springs, AL, and Heather Crowell (David) of Elgin, SC, survive him.
