Obituary of Edith Dillon

Edith Koon Dillon COLUMBIA:Services for Edith Koon Dillon, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2011, in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Interment will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Dillon, Glenn Dillon, Loy Dillon, Robbie Dillon, Dusty Dillon and Blake Baxley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Dillon, widow of Eugene Q. Dillon, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 4, 2011. Born in Prosperity, SC, she was a daughter of the late Fred O. Koon and Bertha Ophelia Mills Koon. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mrs. Dillon enjoyed taking care of children, quilting and was a strong Christian woman. Survivors are: daughter, Sally J. Barber (David) of Columbia; sons, Eugene H. Dillon of Wagener, Jimmy R. Dillon and Donny L. Dillon, both of West Columbia and Cecil Ray Dillon of Gilbert; also a sister, Merle Moran (Charlie); twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Mrs. Dillon was preceded in death by sisters, Jennie Williams, Vertie Mae Quinton and Jewel Frick; and a brother, Loy Koon. Family and friends may sign online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
