Obituary of Bobby Yancey

Bobby Ellis Yancey SWANSEA: Services for Bobby Ellis Yancey, 31, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Gaston, officiated by Rev. Dr. Larry Harrison and Chaplain Donna Peele. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Mack, Thomas Dowd, Stan Jeffcoat, Coach Gaines, Terry Pound and Coach Lackey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Special Olympics Bowling Team and coaches. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. this Wednesday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Little Bobby went to be with the Lord, Sunday, November 13, 2011. Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of James and Terrie Yancey. He attended First Baptist Church of Gaston. He was a longtime Special Olympics Athlete, a huge Gamecocks Fan, Nascar enthusiast; big fan of Mark Martin and Tony Stewart; he loved all types of music, the beach, movies, wrestling, and loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Surviving are his parents, mother, Terrie Yancey of Swansea and father, James Yancey of Lexington; brother, Jack A. Yancey "Jay" of Swansea; maternal grandparents, Bobby and June Ott of Swansea; and maternal great-grandmother, Lizzie Mae Spradley "Nanny" of Gaston.
