Obituary of Emma Bennett

A Mass of Christian Burial for Emma S. Bennett will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A Rosary will be held 6pm Tuesday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home, followed by visitation until 8pm. Mrs. Bennett passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011. She was born December 10, 1937 in Herrnried, Germany to the late Sebastian and Threse Schneider. Mrs. Bennett was a loving and devoted homemaker, and a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She first came to the U.S. in 1959, and became an American Citizen in 1963. She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 641, the NCO Wives Club at Fort Jackson, and a member of the Arlington Ladies. Surviving to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Gilbert G. Bennett; son, Kenneth Bennett (wife Dawn); 3 grandchildren, Westley Gross, Madelynn Bennett, and Henry Bennett; and 3 brothers, Johann (Hans) Schneider, Adolf Schneider, and Georg Schneider. Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road Columbia, SC 29209 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
