Obituary of Lloyd Robinson

Lloyd Ellison Robinson WEST COLUMBIA- A memorial service for Lloyd Ellison Robinson, 89, of West Columbia will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2011, at Saluda River Baptist Church, 3459 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia, SC 29169. Officiating will be Dr. Charles Westbrook. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3223 Sunset Blvd. Ste. 100, West Columbia, SC 29169. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family. Mr. Robinson died Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Born in North, SC, he was the son of the late Phillip Ellison and Irene Boles Robinson. He was a lifetime area resident and was retired from South Carolina Farm Bureau. Mr. Robinson was a founding member of Saluda River Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Sarah Tompkins Robinson of West Columbia; daughters, Wilene Schumpert Cohen (Peter) of Seneca, and Ginger Robinson Roper of Kaaawa, HI; seven grandchildren, Caroline Roper Rolshausen (Philippe) of Riverside, CA, Elizabeth Suzanne Schumpert of Central, SC, Summer Ann Roper (Gordon Schein) of Hilo, HI; David Robert Schumpert, III of West Columbia, Jessica Schumpert Cohen (Jason Grasso) of Indian Trail, NC, Anna Maria Sturkie of Lexington, and Adam Ellison Schumpert (Martha) of Seneca; six great-grandchildren, Daniel McCall of Clemson, SC, Isaac Alexander Grasso of Indian Trail, NC, Oliver Antonio Grasso of Indian Trail, NC, Maxim Joseph Rolshausen of Riverside, CA, Bella Rose Roper Schein of Hilo, HI, and Devon Vincent Grasso of Indian Trail, NC; and brothers, Philip Gene Robinson of West Columbia and James Ray Robinson of Gilbert.
