Obituary of Bobby Underwood

A funeral service celebrating the life of Bobby Wallace Underwood, 77, of Columbia, SC will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with military honors and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Capital Senior Center at Maxcy Gregg Park, 1650 Park Circle, Columbia, SC 29201 or Harvest Hope Food Bank, P.O. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements. Mr. Underwood departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. He was born in Concord, NC to Ben Wallace Underwood and Zula Horton Underwood. Mr. Underwood was a veteran of the United States Navy and he was also the owner and operator of Bob?s Body Shop in Columbia, SC for over 45 years. Bob was an avid bowler and he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Underwood was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Hansen Underwood; his parents; and two siblings. Surviving are his daughters, Catherine Louise Underwood (Larry) Odom and Melisa Ann Underwood (Paul) Caughman; a son, Robert Wayne (Tammy) Underwood; ?adopted children?, Patrick Coward and Dr. Philip Morris; four grandchildren, Lisa Marie (Kristopher) Waters, Clayton Allen Brown, Rhiannon Nicole Underwood, and Reece Andrew Caughman; four great-grandchildren, Cameron Taylor Underwood Waters, Emily Grace Waters, Weston Jacob Brazell, and John Allen Waters; his caregivers and friends, Jay Terry and Christy Williams; a host of other loving relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
