Obituary of Ana Medina

Services for Ana Lydia Medina, 80, of Columbia will be held on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 100 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223 with burial following at 3:00 p.m. at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd Columbia, SC 29229. The family will receive friends and share in a rosary on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at the Greenlawn Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Ana Lydia was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, on January 11, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Felix and Luisa Rios. Mrs. Medina is survived by her beloved husband, Rafael Medina; her son Idel Rafael Medina and his wife, Ivette Medina of Columbia; her daughter Evie Sanchez and her husband Mariano Sanchez of MD; by her grandchildren, Inette Eby and her husband, Michael of NV; Miguel Sanchez of MD; Anthony Medina and his wife, Lisa of GA; Victoria Sanchez of VA; and Jeanette Medina of Greenville; by her great-grandchildren Makayla Medina, Deliz Medina, Alyece Medina, Anthony Eby and Olivia Eby. She is also survived by her brothers Rafael, Roberto and Federico Rios, and her sister Maria Luisa Rios all of Puerto Rico and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her sisters Luz, Felicita, and Juanita Rios. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
