Obituary of Estelle Martin

WEST COLUMBIA—Funeral services for Estelle Marie Martin, 82, of West Columbia, will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia. Burial will follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Estelle Marie Martin, beloved wife of Marvin Edward Martin, Sr., passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012. Born in Richland County, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Lail and Gladys Elizabeth Carroll Lail. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband, Marvin E. Martin, Sr., of West Columbia; daughters, Diane Hutchinson of Lexington and Deborah Gainey (Donald) of Pelion; son, Marvin Martin, Jr. of West Columbia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Jeffcoat of Blythewood, Gloria Hobgood of Winnsboro and Louise Tremble of Lexington; brothers, David Blume of Blythewood and Larry Blume of Mauldin.
