Obituary of Anna Lee Jacobs
Anna Lee Jacobs, 78 of Lexington, SC, entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center. She was born on March 5, 1945, to the late Dorothy May Ewell and Russell R. Handy.
Anna was a homemaker most of her life when she met and married her now deceased husband, Gilbert O. Jacobs, whom she shared a wonderful 45yrs with. She was an avid spiritual reader in her spare time. If she wasn't reading or taking care of her family, you would find her very active at her 7th Adventist faith church, wearing many hats as a Head Usher, Head Deaconess, Church Treasurer & even at times, leading morning Bible study.
Anna, who was called Sis by her parents and her siblings, can attest her strong faith and how loving and kind-hearted she was growing up. She was that constant who always had time to take care of everyone, even up until her last days.
Apart from her kind heart, she also held a stern hand, which her surviving children can also attest to. Her children can share a story or two of some of those Stern moments, but not without a smile on their faces. Above all, she was a God-fearing woman who trusted and loved God with alllll of her being. No matter how bad something seemed or was, she would always hear her say with much certainty, "If it be God's will, it will be."
Anna is survived by her two sons, James A. Byrd of California and Vence D. Bryd of Virginia, and one daughter, Dorothy M. Ewell of South Carolina. She is also survived by two brothers, Earvin Ewell and Randolph Ewell of Delaware, and one sister, Cheryl D. Harris of South Carolina... and host of many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert O. Jacobs, son, Aaron M. Ewell and daughter, Marvalla R. Jacobs-Bynes.
