Obituary of Chittakorn Sarnsamack
Kit (Chittakorn) Sarnsamack, 59, passed peacefully on July 1, 2023 at home close to those he most loved and adored. He was born in Bangkok, Thailand on September 1, 1963.
After graduating from Lower Richland High School, he served in the Army for four years as a tank mechanic. In 1988, he married Michelle, this year entering 35 years of marriage. He continued his education and built a family as he worked as a Mental Health Specialist, and later became a Registered Nurse, while he and Michelle had two daughters. Kit was a compilation of so many things to so many people; husband, father, nurse, horse show dad, grill master, talented Thai cook, yard work beautification expert, enjoyer of a great cruise with a balcony, and all-around super handy man. He was passionate about caring for and sharing with others and it showed not only in his long career as a nurse, but in his personal life. He had a huge heart and always put others before himself. He had a great sense of humor and could impress his girls with some serious old school dance moves. To say that he will be missed, is simply an understatement.
He is predeceased by his foster parents, Ben and Ruby Reaves; sister, Sonya Reaves of Columbia, SC; and biological mother, Swang “Nit” Tarmprayoon, of Woodruff, SC. He leaves behind his wife, Michelle Keeler Sarnsamack; his two daughters, Kaci Suzette (Ryan Kerr) and Holly Nicole; his foster brothers, Marty Reaves (Dale) and Harold Reaves (Diane); and too many other family members and friends to list. He also leaves behind a following of devoted and loved friends at Bryan Psychiatric Hospital, Lexington Medical Center, and the Veterans Hospital. Special thanks to Caris for their care and support for Kit and his family during this difficult time.
