Obituary of Martha J. Shattles

Martha Jalaine Shattles of West Columbia, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the age of 61.

Mrs. Shattles was an employee of Lexington Medical Center for twenty-one years. She was a loving wife and stepmom.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Walton Edmondson and mother, Martha Kate Mitchell Edmondson “Mama E.” Survivors include her brothers, Jimmy Edmondson, and Doug Edmondson (Debra); her loving husband of twenty-eight years, Steve Shattles, Sr.; stepdaughter, Gina Shattles (Gray Johnston); and stepson, Steven Shattles, Jr. (Cori); along with her two step-grandchildren, Austin Shattles and Casey Shattles.

A funeral service for Mrs. Shattles will be held Saturday July 15, 2023. Viewing will start at 12 o’clock noon, followed by the service at 1 o’clock at the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. An interment will follow the service at Celestial Memorial Gardens, 3111 Delree Street, West Columbia, SC 29170.
