Obituary of Frances Jean Edrington

Frances "Frankie" Sweatt Edrington, age 70, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Aaron James and Betty Brazell Sweatt of Lexington.

Frankie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John "Johnny" Edrington III of 47 years and her sister-in-law, Susan W. Sweatt.

Frankie was a long time resident of Lexington. She graduated from Eau Claire High School and worked briefly at Bell South and in retail management. Frankie loved her family dearly and worked hard to decorate her beautiful home and yard for entertaining.  Later in life, she and Johnny opened an in-home daycare to spend more time with the grandchildren. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

Frankie is survived by her daughters, Jennifer "Jenny" Edrington Taylor (Mark) and Julie Edrington-Fisher; brother, Robert Sweatt; and sister, Angie Sweatt Helms (Ed).

She was affectionately known as "Mimi" to her five grandchildren: Judson Ross Taylor, Carter Wade Edrington, Madeline "Maddie" Grace Taylor, Davis Brice Fisher and Coleman James Fisher.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 12 noon at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, SC. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:30 AM – 12 noon at Thompson Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the loving caregivers at the Carroll Campbell Place, Lexington Medical Center Extended Care and AMA Hospice Care.
