Obituary of Leigh Peake

Funeral services for Leigh Peake, 57, of West Columbia will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at noon at Greenlawn Baptist Church (6612 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC  29209).  Entombment will take place after the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum (7100 Garners Ferry Road, Columbia, SC  29209).  A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary at Greenlawn Baptist Church preceding the service.

Leigh was born on March 24, 1966, in Columbia and passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023.  She was a daughter of Carolyn and the late Hazel Lee ‘Skeet’ Peake.  She was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church where she played handbells and had served as a deacon.  

Leigh was a graduate of James H. Hammond Academy (Class of 1984).  She was also a graduate of Clemson University (Class of 1988) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Leigh was employed with Palmetto Citizens Credit Union since 1988 working her way up from teller to branch manager.

Leigh is survived by her mother, Carolyn Peake; sister and brother-in-law, Lynne and Steve Hatchell; nephew, Matthew Hatchell; and niece, Carlee Hatchell.  She was predeceased by her father, ‘Skeet’ Peake.
