Obituary of Eugene Brown

Eugene Brown, June 22, 1939, Lexington, SC, passed away on June 3, 2023 in Lexington, SC in Hospice. Born in ST. George, SC, he was the son of the late Bill Brown & Mary Lewis Brown. He relocated to Mims, FL in 1950 with his parents and resided in Florida till 2022 until he relocated back to SC.

He was predeceased by his daughter Lawanna Renee, and his sister Mary Evelyn and his brothers Wilbur, Hayward, Bernard and Elijah. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Lois (Kent) Brown, the love of his life; his sister Dorothy Stephens of Mims, FL; his brother Earl Kenny and his wife Maryann; his sons Scottie and his wife Lavern of Daytona Beach, FL, Bobby and his wife Michele of Lexington, SC; his grandson Nicolas and wife Zariah of Rock Hill, SC; granddaughter Erika of Daytona Beach, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, 2 great grands and many god children.

He was employed for many years at the Jess Parrish Hospital & Kennedy Space Center until he started his own business Brown Excavating that he and Lois ran for over 42 years.  He loved the Lord and was very generous with his family and friends throughout the years. He loved fishing and spending his time with nature.  He would be known to try his hand in cooking and making some great cornbread. He loved life and marched to the beat of his own drum. He was a true gentleman, a very hard worker and a great dad & grandad.

Eugene’s memorial service will be June 24 at 11am in Oak Hill, Florida at the Bibleway Church of God in Christ.
