Obituary of Leroy Pugh

Leroy Pugh was born February 14, 1942, in Columbia, SC to the late Alphonso Powe and Mary Pugh-Mack. He graduated from Lakeview High School in West Columbia, SC and served his country honorably with many awards in the US Army. Upon retirement from the US Army, Leroy continued to serve his country as a federal employee. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Pugh of 60 years; three children: Leroy Pugh, Jr., Gregory Pugh, and Kimberly Daniel (Derrick); four granddaughters: Tawana Pugh-McGinnis, Anastasia Scott, Brittany Lemons, LaKia Nicole Lemons; two great grandchildren: Antonio Billups, Jr., and McKenzie Lemons; one sister, two brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family of Leroy Pugh expresses their sincere thank you to everyone who has visited, called, prayed, and shared comforting words during this time of bereavement. We send our deepest appreciation to the following staff and services entrusted with his care: Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home, Crestwood Medical Center, Royal Funeral Home, and Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 2, 2023 at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.

A service and entombment will be held immediately after the viewing at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, located directly across the street from the funeral home.
