Obituary of Herrick E. Harris

Herrick E. Harris (Rick) of Lexington, SC, died at Lexington Medical Center on March 23, 2023. Rick was born March 9, 1946, to Nadine S. and William Harris in Florence, South Carolina. After graduating from high school, Rick served in the United States Air Force from June 1964 through June 1968. Rick joined the South Carolina Air National in 1968, and was employed at McEntire Air National Guard until 1979. In 1979 following his graduation from Midlands Technical College, Rick worked in the Electronic Engineering Technology field in North and South Carolina until 2001. Rick retired from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles in 2012. Rick also retired from the South Carolina Air National Guard with 33 years of service.  

Rick is survived by his wife, Bonnie S. Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Wesley Davis; grandson and his wife, Reno and Katie Davis; and granddaughter, Bailie Davis.  

Funeral service is Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 10:00am at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or charity of your choice. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
