Obituary of Phillip Leon Stewart

Phillip Leon Stewart of Hopkins, South Carolina, passed away February 27, 2023. He was 78 years old.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Cleo Russ Stewart; wife of 50 years, Joann Stewart; and son Phillip Leon Stewart, Jr.

He is survived by daughters Laura Ann Davis (Tommy) of Manning, South Carolina and Jennifer Stewart (John) of Lexington, South Carolina; son Nicholas Lawhon of Hopkins, South Carolina; stepdaughter Sherry Daiz (Fernando) of Hopkins, South Carolina; sister Barbara S. Wardlaw of Columbia, South Carolina; brother Kenny Stewart (Karen) of Savannah, Georgia; dear family friend of many years, Ricky Newton of Hopkins, South Carolina; dear friend and caretaker, Rebecca Grooms and her son, Mason Grooms of Lexington, South Carolina; and numerous grand and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Phillip was a member of the American Legion and Eastover Ruritan Club. He was passionate about his lifelong career of truck driving.

A private graveside service will be held.
