Obituary of Roddey Elizabeth Gunter

Roddey Elizabeth Gunter 83, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2023. Born in Richland County to the late Melton George Rabon and Virginia Grace (Nolan) Rabon.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, 3 sons in laws and a daughter in law but to her they are daughters and sons. Susan Jackson (Charlie), Dreana Jackson (John) Sharon Hare (Chris) and Renitia Anderson, as well as 8 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Edmund Gunter, daughter Louise Anderson Hoover, Son Ronnie Edward Anderson and Sisters Mabel Hammer, Ethel Gilpin, Virginia Lequeux and a brother M. G. Rabon Jr.

She was a former employee of Anchor Continental, South Beltline Blvd. and Lowes Home Improvement of Lexington. She loved growing and taking care of her flowers and always had lots of them. She also loved painting beautiful pictures on her computer.

She is our beautiful Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandma, Granny, Aunt and Friend who has the most beautiful heart and soul. She loved her Lord and Savior and shared His message with anyone who would listen. She devoted her life to her family and filled our days with love and laughter. She is the Light and Inspiration of our lives. We’re gonna miss you Mama more than you could ever know. We will hold you in our hearts until once again we hold you in our arms.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on January 10, 2023, from 6:00 PM - 8:00PM. A private funeral service will be held later.
