Obituary of Helen W. Sills

Helen W. Sills (West Columbia) passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Reginald Eugene Sills, in 2008. Helen is survived by her three children, Darrell Sills (Joan), Mark Sills (Tammy), and Lisa Walsh; seven grandchildren, Abigail Walsh, Brandon Sills, Christopher Sills, Dylan Sills, Jenna Sills, Lizzie Walsh, and Quentin Sills; and several great grandchildren.

Helen leaves to all, fortunate to call her their mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, a legacy of physical and spiritual strength, of unselfish love and joy, and unwavering devotion to the Lord Jesus.

Throughout her life, Helen touched many lives with her genuine smile and loving compassion for others, always putting those before herself. She loved to cook with fresh ingredients, garden, and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She had a 30-year career at Southern Bell and cherished the friends she made there. She was also a charter member of Oakwood Baptist Church.

Her funeral service will be held on January 6th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Baptist Church Lexington, SC. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the church.
