Obituary of Christy Lee Martin

Christy Lee Martin sadly lost her battle with soft tissue sarcoma in the evening hours of Sunday, December 18, 2022 at the age of 40. She was born May 24, 1982 in Bluefield, Virginia, to the late Carolyn "Mammie" and Kenneth Farmer.

Christy leaves behind her boyfriend, George "Je'mal" Lowery; two amazing sons, Jakob Dallas, 17 and Grayson Harley, 15 of the home and fur babies Oliver and Jenny; sisters, Robin (Zayne) Ward and Jessica (John) Atwell; a very special Aunt Sandra, who shared a Mother's love for Christy. She also left behind nephews, Devin and Kevin (Sierra) Blankenship; a great nephew, Devin Lee; and a niece, Madison (Shawn) Goode.

Christy enjoyed many beloved friends and colleagues she so passionately served beside as a NREMT-P with Richland County EMS. Christy's positivity and loving supportive attitude was felt by all who knew her.

Christy was always kind and full of life. She brightened the world with her infectious smile and laughter. Even through her own tribulations she was a beacon of light to others and often put them first before her own needs. 

Christy's life revolved around her sons. She never missed a football game or a chance to teach her boys how to show kindness to others. Grayson loved his Mom's career as a paramedic. He carried a "go bag" with first aid supplies to help anyone in the neighborhood when he was eight years old. Jake inherited his Mom's kind heart for animals, love of the outdoors and he was definitely her favorite blue eyed boy. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Highway, Lexington, SC.
