Obituary of Clyde Otto Lee
WEST COLUMBIA—Clyde Otto “C.O.” Lee, 80, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at his residence in West Columbia. Born on February 24, 1942, in Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Clyde Covington Lee and Leona (Sinclair) Lee.
He is survived by his loving widow, Diane Lee; a son, David Lee; a sister, Frances Broach; and a grandson, David Brycen Lee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Edward Lee; and several siblings.
C.O. was a proud retired veteran. He enrolled in the Navy while in high school, and eventually enrolled in the US Army National Guard, where he was involved with Operation Desert Storm. He was a baptized member of Springdale Baptist Church in West Columbia. He enjoyed woodworking in his free time.
A burial service with full military honors will take place at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, with the Rev. Tommy McGill officiating. A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:30 a.m. at Springdale Baptist Church, following the burial.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Springdale Baptist Church Transportation Fund, 357 Wattling Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
