Obituary of Carlene M. Stockman

Carlene M. Stockman, 81, of Gaston, South Carolina passed away December 17, 2022 at her residence with her family and friends by her side.  She was born on April 20, 1941 in Castlewood, VA, to the late Carl and Pauline (Kelley) Minton.

In addition to her parents, Carlene was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Stockman; and her brother, Larry Joe Minton.

Carlene is survived by her son, Jeff (Helen) Stockman, her daughter, Ann Nicholson, her son, Glen Stockman, and her daughter Susan (Glenn) Hollis.  Also surviving are her sisters, Paulette Mann, Margaret Reynolds, and Sara Crabtree; her brother, Tommy Minton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.  Carlene taught for 21 years at Lexington 2 as a Teacher's Assistant.  She was a member of Chester Nuts Camping Club. She loved crocheting, making over 2000 baby blankets for Children's Hospital.  She was well loved by all of her family and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC, with burial to follow in Shiloh UMC Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.  Memorials may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
