Obituary of Ruby Black Keisler
Ruby Black Keisler, 82, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center. She was born in Saluda County on April 17, 1940, to the late Grady Leon and Eula Leaphart Black. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Keisler and a daughter, Connie Keisler Peake.
Mrs. Keisler is survived by her daughters, Kay Keisler, Charlene Starnes (Barry), Rita Boykin (Gary); grandsons, Christopher Starnes, Jonathan Starnes, Cody Peake, Michael Brazell; granddaughter, Brandi Askew (Mitch); and great-grandson Lincoln Askew.
Mrs. Keisler was a member of Amick Grove Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a faithful, compassionate servant who loved the Lord, her family and friends with her whole heart. She loved baking, cooking and sharing her creations, especially her pecan pies, with many. Anyone that knew her quickly realized how much she loved South Carolina Gamecock sports. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were lucky enough to know her.
Service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, 4720 Augusta Rd., Lexington, SC, conducted by Chaplain Maurice Webber. Interment will follow the service at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Nancy K. Perry Children’s Shelter, Lexington, SC, St. Jude or to the charity of one’s choice.
