Obituary of Hui Sui Dyches

Hui Su “Kim” Dyches, 69, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away December 2, 2022, at Lexington Medical Center. She was born on September 4, 1953, in South Korea.

Kim is survived by daughters, Kimberly Dyches Harris (Mike Harris), and Monica Gwen Russell (Justin Lepley); her grandchildren, Darby Harris (Siera Harris) and Samantha Rayne Harris (Zach Rhoades); her great grandchildren Hunter Satterfield and Emma Satterfield. She is also survived by her closest friend of 48 years Kim Boone.

In life, Kim was small in stature, but big on family and the bonds of friendship.  While her natural siblings were overseas and far away, she built her own family of close-knit friends within the Korean community here in Columbia.  By extension, she is also survived by untold nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters by marriage into the Dyches & Griffin families. Their love and fellowship was the backbone of many a family gathering through the years.

The family will receive friends at a catered reception beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
