Obituary of David Eugene Wilson

David Eugene Wilson “Gene”, 88, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away December 2, 2022. He was born on February 26,1934 in West Columbia, South Carolina to Eugene and Edieth (Miller) Wilson.

Born in West Columbia, SC Gene graduated from B.C. Highschool. Over the years he owned a produce market, a Christmas tree business, and was a purchasing director for Union Switch and Signal and Laidlaw Environmental Services. He was an avid golfer, had a true love for Harley Davidson and loved shagging on the boulevard.

Gene lived a full charismatic life with God and family being his priorities. He was a devoted husband of twenty one years.

Gene is survived by his loving spouse, Penny Wilson (MudDuck); his children, Pam Parks (Ken), David Wilson (Shelly), and Scott Wilson (Ronda); sister Margie Gissendanner (Bill); grandchildren, Erica Parks, Chase Parks, Amber Bagwell (Andrew), Colton Wilson (Katie), and Weston Wilson; great grandchildren, Stone Parks, Kaitlyn Bagwell and Palmer Bagwell; step-children, Presley Painter, Lauren Butts; and stepgrandchildren, Crosson Painter and Laikyn Painter, Selah and Scout Butts.

He was preceded in death by Eugene and Edieth (Miller) Wilson.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Monday December 5, 2022 at 2:00PM, with funeral services following at 3:00PM. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
