Obituary of Ollie Mae Jashinsky
Ollie Mae Bazen Jashinsky, 88, of West Columbia, SC went home to be with our Lord peacefully and with great confidence in Him on November 15, 2022. She leaves behind a loving and devoted family, to include a son, Ed (Cathy) and a daughter, Gerri. She has 5 grandchildren: John (Mary), Simms (Whitney), Lauren (Steven), Erin (Vic) and Griffyn (Brandon); and 10 great grandchildren: Layla Grace, Weston, Jackson, Brayden, Mary Kate, Emily, Truitt, Trey, Barrett, and Bazen. Her sister, Pat (John) and brother, Tommy (Sandra) are much more than just a sister and brother to her.
Ollie was preceded in death by John, her beloved husband of 68 years; her beloved son, Jay; sister, Brenda; and her parents. She was an excellent bookkeeper and worked for Best Lumber Co. in Sumter for many years. She loves her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, her family (and her Church family), her many friends and her Country. She loved people and giving of her time and energy to others, truly unselfishly. She especially loved buying gifts for her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. If you knew Ollie, you loved her!
The family would like to especially thank Lexington Oncology, Medical Services of America Hospice, Assisting Hands Home Care, and McLeod Home Care. Memorials may be sent to Northside Baptist Church, 4347 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC 29072. Thompson Funeral Homes is assisting the family. Visitation will occur at 10:00 AM, with a service to follow at 11:00 AM on 11/28/22 at Thompson’s, 4720 Augusta Rd. in Lexington. A private burial service will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at www.thompsonsfuneral.com
