My mothers heart was her biggest asset. She was loving, caring, and giving. She had an edge and was tough, on the the other side she was sweet and full of joy. She grew up during a rough time in our world and saw and lived through things that a child shouldn’t have too. But surviving these trying times molded her into the beautiful person she became. I will be forever blessed having her in my life and having her mold me into the person I became. Love and miss ya mama!

A very beautiful heartfelt tribute about your Mom, and Omi, Siggie, George, Ron, Roy, Tim and always James. Thinking of all of you as you take time to reflect, share stories and family love which remains constant and never ending. Remembering Edletraut's quick wit and comebacks, her vibrant smile and laugh, her caring words and warm hugs during sad times, and her continual pride and everlasting love for her children and grandchildren. God blessed her with an eye pleasing outward appearance, which is what at first drew your Dad George to her, he soon found out there was so much more within, then without her! I held her in high esteem because of what she once told me. in her words "When I got my American citizenship she said most proudly "I can now say I am American, this is my country and my home. I am thankful to have been given this great responsibility to be a citizen of The United States of America." Her words told me that she was here to stay, she invested her whole self in to this country and would always hold great gratitude for this fact for the rest of her life, which she did. When someone crosses over, it gives us those that remain, a time to let the kaleidoscope of what we knew about their lives filter through, in these last days since her passing, I have done just that. Thanks Aunt Edletraut for sharing so much of yourself with all of us your American family. Love to all from your niece, and cousin Linda Johnson Lane
