Obituary of Malcolm Louis Koerner, Jr.

Malcolm Louis "Hank" Koerner, Jr. of Eastover, SC, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home. He was 80 years of age. Hank was born in Canton, OH on February 1, 1942, to the late Clara Maybelle Miller Koerner and Malcolm Louis Koerner, Sr.

Hank proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was a life member of Lower Richland Masonic Lodge #406, Eastover, SC. He was a welder and metal worker his entire life.

Hank is survived by his former wife, Georgette Gault Koerner; son, Michael Koerner of Eastover, SC; daughter, Michelle Koerner, of Gaston, SC; his brother, Clarence "Casey" Koerner of Pflugerville, TX; his grandchildren, Christopher Michael, Mandy Marie, Melissa Jean, and Mary Ann; as well as several great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepson, Gary Gault Koerner.

The visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 12 - 1 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM in the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
