Obituary of Mildred Christine Collins

Mildred Christine Collins, 83, of Elgin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on the morning of Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was a widow of the late Lamar Collins.  

She leaves behind daughters, Dorothy Watson (Franklin) of Elgin, Elaine Smith (Chip) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Bonnie Reagan (Dallas) of Chesapeake, VA; a sister, Lois Duncan of Mullins; and several grand- and great-grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fulton and Esther Hewitt; and a son, Danny Collins.  

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Gaston with the Rev. Barry Spears officiating. Burial will take place immediately after in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, and other times at Dorothy’s home in Elgin.
