Obituary of Annie R. Scott

Annie Ruth Breedlove Scott, 85, of Lexington, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, August 22, 2022, surrounded by devoted family.

 

Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilber and Annie Bell Breedlove and the wife of the late Billie I. Scott, husband of 54 years. She was a committed member of City of Hope Worship Center, formerly West Columbia Church of God, having served in countless ways, including as a Sunday school teacher, President of the Women’s Ministry, and choir member. She was recognized for her ‘many faithful years of dedicated service’ by receiving the Senior Citizen of the Year Award in 2009.

 

She will be fondly remembered for: how she faithfully prayed for family and friends; served her country through the service of her spouse, hosted large gatherings where she enjoyed cooking and hospitality.

 

Surviving are her daughter, Melinda Martin (Jimmy); sons, Ronnie Scott of Pelion, SC, David Scott (Lauren) of Tiger, GA, and Dwayne Scott (Kay) of Batesburg, SC; sisters, Betty Hare of Lexington, SC, and Sandra Fulmer of Lexington, SC; loving niece, nephews, and cousins; proud Gigi of four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter-in-law and grandson.

 

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at City of Hope Worship Center, 1403 D Ave, West Columbia, SC, officiating will be Bishop Toby Jones. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Woodridge Memorial Park.
