Obituary of Carrie Elizabeth Varn

Carrie Elizabeth Varn was born on September 7, 1945, in Columbia, SC  and passed away on Monday, August 15th, 2022.  She was the daughter of the late Perry Lucius Hutto and Nan Elizabeth Hutto.

Carrie attended Dreher High School in Columbia, SC.  She was a member of Trinity Church.  She enjoyed attending church and socializing with her friends.  She had a deep love for God and people.  She volunteered her time and energy to the special needs of the church. Her unique goodness and faith led her to help others spiritually and physically even during her own struggles.   

She lived a simple life and enjoyed simple pleasures like shopping, dining out and collecting.  She also enjoyed gathering with her family and spending time with her precious cat Jacob. She was known for her “famous” macaroni and cheese by all. 

She is survived by her (2) two sons, Bobby Wyatt and Jeff Wyatt; her daughter, Tonya Mills (Mark); her (3) three sisters, Gloria Dowdey, Terry Richardson (Tony) and Sherry Hutto; her grandchildren, Crystal Wyatt, Brianna Mills, Zeta Mills; her great-grandchildren, Clayton Arcand, Keegan Arcand and Aliyah Estevez; and her beloved cat Jacob.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd., Lexington, SC  29073.  Funeral services will be held following the viewing, at 1:30 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside services will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Ave., Columbia, SC  29201.
