Obituary of DeAnn C. Willard

DeAnn C. Willard passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

She is predeceased by her father, Dewey M. Coggins.  She is survived by her mother, Ann S. Coggins; children,  Carol S. Willard and Dewey Willard; granddaughter, Ansley A. Willard; brother, Richard D. Coggins; and nephew, Zachary T. Coggins. 

DeAnn retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of dedicated service. DeAnn was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.  She graduated from Lower Richland High School in the Class of 1978.  DeAnn was recognized for many things over the years, with her favorite being awarded 2006 “Mother of the Year” award from the Lower Richland Ruritan Club.  

DeAnn was known for loving her family more than anything and her love of cooking for those she loved. 

The family will receive guest at Thompson Funeral Home on Leesburg Rd. in Columbia, on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held at Asbury Memorial UMC, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be made in DeAnn’s memory to Asbury Memorial UMC, 1005 Asbury Drive, Columbia, SC 29209
