Obituary of Helen Coker O'Cain

Helen Coker O’Cain of Columbia, SC, died peacefully at home on April 6th. Helen retired from Southern Bell after 33 years of service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia and served her Lord and church working on the bereavement and count counting ministries. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Vera Coker, a brother, Gene Coker and a son, Ronnie O’Cain. 

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lindo O’Cain; daughter, Jeanie Rose (Tim) of Lexington; sister, Evelyn Kirton (Basil) of West Columbia; daughter-in-law, Lisa O’Cain of Columbia; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. 

Helen loved the beach and loved going on trips with her church family. 

The family will receive visitors at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Rd. Columbia, on Sunday, April 10th at 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 2 pm. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park will follow the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, Columbia, SC or a charity of your choice.
