Obituary of JoAnn Noechel Cousins Wallace

JoAnn Noechel Cousins Wallace, 92, of Columbia, SC passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, peacefully at home, surrounded by her children.

JoAnn was the wife of the late Major Ted Wallace (US Army, retired). Her parents were the late Mary and Fred Noechel of Fairmont, West Virginia. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Robert Noechel of Keyser, West Virginia and Paul Noechel of Fairmont, West Virginia; stepson, William L. Cousins III of Limington, Maine; and her first husband, CSM William L. Cousins II.  She is survived by sons, Steve (Margo) Cousins of Vail, Colorado, and Tim (Leigh) Cousins of Greer, South Carolina; daughters, Cindy Gilbert and Patty Cousins of Columbia, South Carolina; stepdaughters, Linda (Lou) Ruggiero of Chapin, South Carolina, and Peggy Rumple of Chapin, South Carolina; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Burial services will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Trenholm Road United Methodist Church Foundation, 3401 Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29204 and to Epworth Children’s Home, PO Box 50460 Columbia, SC 29250.
