Obituary of Margaret McMurray

Lexington- Margaret McMurray, 69, of Lexington, SC passed away on Wednesday, March 2^nd. She was the daughter of Joyce Voreis and the late Ralph Voreis.

Margaret was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and Palmer College. She retired from the City of Columbia after 39 years of service, working under numerous city managers. She had many joys in life, including her family, softball, bowling, scrapbooking, and making memories with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles McMurray Sr; her children Chad McMurray (Jessica) and Carrie Taylor (Michael); her grandchildren Bryson, Tyler and Dylan McMurray and Hunter, Hudson and Caroline Taylor. She is also survived by a brother, Larry Voreis (Suzanne); a sister, Linda Parker (Richard) and a niece Amanda Parker. She was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Voreis in addition to her father.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with visitation one hour prior.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Epworth’s Children home in Margaret’s memory.
