Obituary of Bernadette Gordick

Bernadette (Bernie) Gordick, 89, of West Columbia, SC peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

She was born November 15,1932 in Prescot, Lancashire, England to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Henry Johnson of England.

In her early years she was a teacher, but later pursued a career in banking and retired from Bank of America after 30 years of service where she received numerous awards. She earned her Master’s Degree from the University of South Carolina and was a member of the USC Alumni Association and Gamecock Club.  When she wasn't in her flower and herb gardens, she could be found playing tennis or golf, or just relaxing in Hilton Head.

She leaves behind her children, Paul (Debbie) Gordick, Sharon (David) Futral,  Anne (Gary) Miklos, Wendy Sabo, and Cathy (Robert) Barger; her grandchildren, Dustin (Jenny) Walters, Ryan Futral, Chris (Rina) Futral, Nicholas (Aimee) Eaddy, and Brittany Barger; her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Eaddy, Kaylin Futral, Parker Walters and Lilia Futral (soon to be); and her siblings, Greta (John) Earl, Michael Brendan (Pamela) Johnson, and Steve (Barbara) Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles (Chuck) Gordick; her parents, Albert and Mary (Mollie) Johnson; her sister, Rita Mawdsley; and her grandson, Ben Barger.

Graveside services will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at Southland Memorial Gardens, West Columbia, SC at 11 am.
