OBITUARY of Jorge Ceballos-Miranda “El Hermano Jorge”; “El Mello De Colón.”

Jorge Ceballos Miranda

November 7, 1949 - February 13, 2022

Jorge Ceballos Miranda was born on November 7, 1949 in Colon city, Panamá.

He moved to the U.S.  in 1999 with his family in pursuit of a better life.

He’s survived by his wife of 45 years, Delia A. Francis de Ceballos and his children, Yisel, Yodixza, Yenitzia, Jorge Jr., Roderic, Jonathan, Dulce Maria, Nadeshka; 16 adorable grandchildren, His brother and sister Victor Ceballos and Leda Ceballos and many nieces, nephews and friends from his beloved Cativá.

Jorge loved his Spanish congregation of Grace Baptist Church, in West Columbia, SC, where every Sunday he would say that “the coffee was badly made but it tasted good.”  Brother Jorge, as he was also known, will be candidly remembered for his sense of humor, but even more so for his love for his wife, his family and congregation, but mainly for his love for Christ.

After a long battling against cancer, he died in the comfort of his home, on February 13, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones and his brothers and sisters from Grace Baptist Church whom he loved dearly.

A Memorial service will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 416 Denham Ave in West Columbia.  The family will receive friends from 10-11am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church.

Jorge Ceballos Miranda

November 7, 1949 - February 13, 2022

Jorge, mejor conocido como “El Mello De Colón,” por su familia y amigos, nació en la Ciudad de Colón el 7 de noviembre de 1949, emigró a los Estados Unidos con su familia en 1999, en busca de una mejor vida.  

Le sobreviven su esposa de 45 años, Delia Francis de Ceballos, e hijos Yisel, Yodixza, Yenitzia, Jorge Jr., Jonathan, Dulce María, Nadeshka; y su sobrino Roderick Hall; sus 16 nietos; sus hermanos Leda Ceballos y Víctor Ceballos y muchos sobrinos en su amada Cativá en Colón, Panamá.

Jorge amaba a su congregación de La Iglesia Bautista De La Gracia en West Columbia, SC, donde decía cada domingo que “el café estaba mal hecho, pero sabía bien.”  El Hermano Jorge, como también se le conocía, será recordado alegremente por su sentido del humor, pero aún más por su amor por su esposa y familia, su amor a su congregación, pero principalmente por su amor por Cristo.

Después de una larga lucha contra el cáncer, murió en la comodidad de su casa, el Domingo, 13 de febrero de 2022 rodeado por sus seres queridos y amados hermanos en Cristo.

Las honras fúnebres iniciarán a las 11:00 am el Lunes, 21 de febrero, 2022.  La familia recibirá a amigos por una hora de visitación 10:00 am -11:00 am.
