Obituary of Benjamin Franklin DeBerry

Benjamin Franklin DeBerry, 61, passed away December 17, 2021, at his home in Columbia, SC.

Ben spent his life in Columbia and Lexington, SC. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1988 with a business degree. He worked in sales and won many awards for record sales numbers at multiple large companies. Ben was driven and competitive, but more importantly, he was extremely personable and made great friendships throughout his years of traveling.

Ben was a devoted father and avid boater. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his family, tubing, fishing, and just being together on the water. He was a problem solver that often took on projects around the house and would help family and friends. He was an unofficial contractor, electrician, plumber, painter, etc. While the kids were growing up, he enjoyed spending time with them at their sporting events. He got to watch his daughter, Kendall, win her high school soccer state championship, which was one of his proudest moments as a father.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and all who knew him.

Ben is survived by his two children: Kendall and Morgan; sister, Susan; brother, Steve; and nephew, Trey. He is predeceased by his parents, Lucille and Kenneth DeBerry; and a brother, Ken.
