Roy Razor

Obituary of Roy Eugene Razor

Roy Eugene Razor passed away on December 10, 2021 from an extended illness.  Roy moved to South Carolina on his birthday on April 5, 2013, when he departed from Louisville, Kentucky with his lifelong family friend and partner of 18 years, Nancy Underwood.

Roy was the youngest son of George and Elizabeth Razor, and their last living child.  Roy had three brothers and four sisters:  Roberta, Louie, Marshall, Albert, Bessie, Christine, and Lula Mae “Tootie”. Roy was married to Myrna Lynn Razor until she passed in 2003.  He has two children, Judith Razor and Matthew Roy Razor; and four grandchildren:  Raven, Julia, Megan, and Justin.

Roy worked as a Tankman and Deckhand on river boats for American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL), where he retired.  His proudest career accomplishment was getting his Tankers License. His fondest childhood memories were playing with his siblings and getting his picture made on a pony. He loved attending family gatherings, and when he moved to SC, he was surrounded by Nancy’s family and attended family gatherings with her children and their families: Kathy Carpineto, Rebecca Bittinger, Curt Underwood, Andy Underwood, and Nancy Williamson. Roy was a Kentucky Wildcat fan and his favorite past time was watching UK play basketball. He loved listening to Elvis Presley while doing puzzles, playing cards at family gatherings, and going to the movies.  He enjoyed watching his “cowboy” TV shows, and his favorite color was, of course, royal blue.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A private memorial was held for Roy.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, you can donate to Roy’s favorite charity St. Jude’s Children Hospital: https://www.stjude.org
